NUNNINGTON PARK FARM
Reviews
We have never stayed at such a lovely CL before. The access to the site and the level pitch was excellent. The facilities were spotless, obviously cleaned on a very regular basis. Plentiful water and electric points. Elsen and grey water disposal, recycling bins and a washing line. A nice touch was the fridge/ freezer for campers’ free use. A useful selection of local brochures, walk info and maps to borrow. We loved the dispensing lockers with frozen local meat, sausages, ice cream and cakes, plus local ales and honey. Take your bank card with you. All this and a very quiet nights sleep with a beautiful view to wake up to. Alison is super friendly and helpful. We
are definitely going back. PS, look for the duck pond at the far end of the caravan field, follow the quacks!!
A fantastic warm welcome with loads of information supplied about the local area and things to see and do. Owners very chatty and always willing to talk and offer advice of the local area if needed. Wiveliscombe is only 1 mile away with local shops and great pubs. Toilet block extremely modern and always very clean. Vending machine well stocked with locally produced food and beer/cider. Option to hire a fire pit and purchase wood packs.
Very quiet site with loads of local wildlife. Listening to the owls at night was special. Highly recommended and looking forward to returning in the future.
This was our first ‘trip’ to Somerset in our van , and Nunnington Farm Campsite proved the ideal starting point for exploring the nearby coast, from Watchet to Lynmouth (Devon).
The site itself was well appointed with excellent facilities and a lovely and well informed Host(ess), Alison. Aside from the grass pitches, which might have proved difficult in very wet conditions, all was well with the farm site…..and it was especially good to be there during ‘Lambing’.
The site is on a farm set in beautiful countryside but very handy for Wiviscombe. The shower/toilet block is excellent, very clean & everything works well. It even has a splendid vending machine, a new one on me. Highly recommended.
We loved the campsite. The toilet block is very clean and good information displayed what to do locally. We particularly liked watching the young cattle in the fields above the site. The only disadvantage is that the road up from Wivelscombe is quite tight when towing a caravan. Alison is very friendly and helpful.
A beautiful campsite located on a working farm just outside Wiveliscombe (walkable). Some great dog walks and friendly locals!
We had a lovely Easter weekend. The campsite was easy to find & easy to access with the caravan. It had a great wash block with roomy showers & an info room with a vending machine for local ales, sausages & bacon from the farm & other local produce. Alison was very friendly & helped us plan a cycle route around the local lanes. Would definitely recommend.
We love this campsite and keep coming back (7 trips) and we’ll be back again! There’s plenty to do in the Exmoor area and the site is conveniently located for easy trips further afield. The location is beautiful and sitting out at night listening to the owls and watching shooting stars is magical. There are vending machines that provide local beers, meats and even wood forfire pits! The site is a moderate walk from the town on country lanes, which has everything you need – pubs, takeaways, chemist, stores, cafe, etc. The town’s outdoor pool is fantastic.
A superb site. Level, short grass and well spaced, select your own pitches.
Toilets, showers and washing up sinks are modern and spotless. Vending machines offer bread, meat, cakes, honey, beer, cider, etc.Useful information room and attention to detail, e.g. different height mirrors by the free to use hair dryers and a rotary drier with pegs. We thoroughly enjoyed bullock watching. Definitely a site to return to; we picked wild raspberries to go with breakfast from the hedge and later there will be blackberries.
Wiveliscombe and Dulverton are worthwhile, dog friendly places to visit; the St. Margaret’s hospice charity shops in both places are outstanding.
Absolutely loved our stay ! Alison was so friendly and welcoming when we arrived. The facility’s where so clean and modern . We both slept well and loved how peaceful it was . Will definitely be returning.
Lovely, clean and quiet campsite. You drive up and find your pitch area with your name and park. Facilities were spotlessly clean and well cared for. The self service cakes, beer and cider was much appreciated (and were very nice)! Also self service wood, honey, honeycomb and shortbread. Also locally produced! The local information room also proved very useful. Friendly atmosphere and with lots of chatting to neighbours.
The Farm and its machinery was a constant source of fascination for our 10 year old son. One word of warning (our so called Caravan) Sat Nav decided to take us down to Wellington on M5 and then cross country. Not advised! Take the B3227 – from Taunton much easier drive!
We stayed here for 2 nights and were not disappointed at all, easy to find and a nice level pitch. We didn’t see anyone to check in as we pre paid. The facilities are amazing, spotlessly clean, hot showers with plenty of space to change and good hairdryers!!! There was a vending machine with beers/ciders only £5 for 2 bottles, fresh eggs, cakes and farm honey. The freezer vending machine had steaks, chops, sausages, burgers, bread and ice cream.
Great local information, we couldn’t use the public footpath as it was very overgrown and we couldn’t find the gate. It is a busy working farm but that didn’t bother us. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again the best site we have been on. Looking forward to booking again. Dogs welcome too!
We have visited Nunnington Park Farm site a number of times now as it has become our ‘go to’ chill out and relax place, just over an hour from home. Alison is the perfect ‘host’ – visible at some point every day, very friendly, and always willing to spend time sharing advice on places to visit, best routes, places to eat etc. The site is surrounded by gentle hills and good walks, and short car journeys will take you into the Quantocks, on to Exmoor or to the coast. It is on a working farm, so there is tractor noise at times, but it is not intrusive (and is safe for children) and all you can hear at night is the owls (and the odd moo!). The facilities are excellent (2 showers, loos and sinks per sex), plus a washing up space (2 sinks – ample hot water) and vending machines selling local produce. Despite it being one of those places one would like to keep secret, we would 100% recommend it!
Thank you Alison!
Although a working farm, Nunnington Park is immaculate, modern showers and toilets with electric if required. Alison is very knowledgeable about the area and happy to answer any queries you may have. A wonderful place to chill out. We are going back again and already booked.
